About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Ornithological Consultant to join our team at SLR Consulting. As a key member of our ecology team, you will be responsible for conducting field surveys, analyzing data, and providing expert advice on ornithological matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys to identify and monitor bird populations, habitats, and ecosystems.
  • Analyze data and provide expert advice on ornithological matters, including species identification, habitat assessment, and conservation strategies.
  • Develop and implement survey methodologies and techniques to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain our ornithological services, including report writing, data analysis, and presentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in ornithology and ecology.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Ecology, Biological Science, or a related field.
  • Excellent bird identification skills and experience in ornithological survey techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to work safely in remote upland environments, across all seasons.
