As a Quantitative Analyst Summer Placement, you will be part of our Global Trading organization, working closely with our trading teams on our trade floor. You will apply your skills to develop a basic understanding of the energy commodity market, conduct in-depth analysis of quantitative models, and support market-based valuations of physical assets and structured deals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and recommending profitable trading / hedging strategies
  • Documenting key results and assumptions
  • Working with our trading teams to optimize our strategy in energy, chemicals, lubricants, and lower-emissions technologies

You will be mentored by Senior Front-Office Quants and have the opportunity to gain confidence and experience as an individual, learning new skills in a real trading environment.

Requirements

  • Masters or PhD studies in Mathematical Finance, Computational Finance, Financial Engineering, or similar subject
  • Understanding of option theory, particularly stochastic calculus and option Greeks
  • Familiarity with financial engineering techniques, such as Monte Carlo simulation and dynamic programming
  • Fluency in a programming language such as Python or Excel-VBA
