Quantitative Analyst - Sports Betting

Join Venture Up, a leading provider of sports betting brokerage software, as a Quantitative Analyst. This role is based in London and offers flexible working hours. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and managing proprietary models and algorithms that run at the heart of our bet-placement platform.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and statistics, with experience in sports betting industry. You will be working with terabytes of data, designing and building your own models using your own ideas, and working closely with expert traders and developers to improve your models.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage proprietary models and algorithms for our bet-placement platform
  • Design and build your own models using your own ideas
  • Work closely with expert traders and developers to improve your models
  • Research recent advances in Bayesian updating to better extract signals from noisy data
Requirements
  • 3+ years commercial experience working in sports betting industry
  • A 1st class mathematics-based degree from a top university or a 2:1 from Oxbridge
  • A solid understanding of the fundamentals of statistical prediction and probability theory
  • Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and confidence to try new approaches
  • An interest in sports or competitive games
