Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our obstetrics and gynaecology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Non-Resident Obstetrics and Gynaecology Cover: Participate in Tier 3 non-resident obstetrics and gynaecology cover at UHND, with a workload of 1 in 12. This will include regular fetal medicine scanning sessions, antenatal clinics, elective caesarean sections, gynaecology clinics, and theatre sessions based on your skill set and interests.
  • Development Opportunities: Engage in simulation training and leadership opportunities, allowing you to grow professionally and contribute to the growth of our department.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work collaboratively with neighbouring tertiary sites and participate in regional networks, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
Key Requirements:
  • Clinical Experience: Possess clinical experience and competence in General and Operative Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Organisational Skills: Demonstrate the ability to organise workload efficiently.
  • Teamwork: Show an ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Critical Thinking: Exhibit an enquiring, critical approach to work.
  • Clinical Governance: Evidence of understanding of role of clinical management, knowledge of Audit process & Clinical Governance, involvement in risk management processes, protocol development, and commitment to continuing medical education, appraisal, and clinical governance.
Additional Information:
