About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a prestigious SEMH school. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and a strong commitment to providing individualised support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students in class, assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide one-to-one support, addressing academic, social and emotional needs to help students thrive.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies, promoting emotional regulation and social skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other staff to develop tailored support plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging active participation and promoting confidence and independence.
Candidate Qualities
  • Patience and resilience to work with challenging behaviour.
  • Energetic and active approach to engaging with students.
  • Experience working with SEMH and SEN students, ideally in a school or care setting.
  • Strong team player, able to collaborate with professionals to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Driver preferred, due to the school's rural location.
