Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Psychologist to join our dynamic Home Treatment Team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with mental health professionals to deliver evidence-based interventions and contribute to the development of psychologically informed care for individuals experiencing acute difficulties with their mental health.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Nurses, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Peer Support Workers. You will also co-facilitate psychological groups for individuals admitted to the adult acute mental health ward, utilizing your expertise to provide tailored support and guidance.

The ideal candidate will possess a Psychology Degree, which grants eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society, and a strong passion for working in mental health. A keen ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential for success in this position.

As an Assistant Psychologist, you will be supported by regular clinical supervision and have opportunities to contribute to teaching, team formulations, CPD, and service improvement projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and apply therapeutic skills and understanding to deliver brief evidence-based interventions

Salary Range: £28,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
