Your Role We are seeking a highly experienced VP of Engineering Services to lead our Engineering Services team on a day to day basis. The VP of Engineering Services acts as a bridge between the engineering org and other business stakeholders. The main responsibility of this role is to manage, mentor, and grow the Engineering Services team, provide technical oversight across projects, and ensure that engineering services are delivered with the right quality to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has experience running and managing engineering team(s). This role involves being the voice of engineering and engaging with the business operations and account management teams to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction for engineering services delivered. Key responsibilities include hiring, performance assessments, setting and enforcing standards, supporting growth and acquisition of new business, interfacing with customer stakeholders, and assessing and mitigating project risks. Knowledge of software engineering, web3, and AI is highly desirable as is an IT and technical background.   • Lead Engineering Services on a day to day basis. Management & mentorship of the MSL Engineering Services team, technical oversight across projects.
  • Be the main engineering point of contact with other internal teams, closely collaborate with business operations and account management to ensure profitability and successful customer outcomes.
  • Overall responsibility for service and deliverable quality and that contractual requirements are met.
  • Overall responsibility for technical project risk assessment, work with other business stakeholders to mitigate these risks.
  • Partner with bd and account management to be the voice of engineering in growing the engineering services business, renewing existing business, and addressing any service related issues and concerns.
  • Championing and implementing standards, tools, and best practices across the org including software quality, testing, license compliance, and other areas.
  • Foster an environment of learning, growth and technical excellence within the engineering services team.
  • Achieve high levels of engineer employee satisfaction, maintain low attrition and lead necessary recruitment initiatives.
  • Manage engineer performance evaluation process and promotions.
Requirements
  • Previous experience running and managing an engineering team.
  • 8-10 years of relevant working experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Technical and software engineering background and experience.
  • Interest in web3 and AI is highly desirable.
  • Experience understanding and negotiating contracts and agreements is desirable.
  • High level of commercial awareness, good understanding of financial management and reporting.
  • Good writing skills with an ability to explain complex concepts and issues in a clear and accessible way.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to and work directly with an executive customer audience.
  • Good attention to detail while working well under pressure.
