About the Role

Kao Data is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Quality and Risk Management to join our team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our Quality, Health, and Safety (QHSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement QHSE Standards: Define, implement, and maintain frameworks and policies to support and enhance our QHSE strategy, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and regulatory standards.
  • Define and Drive Safe Work Environment Standards: Develop and implement standards for creating a safe work environment for employees, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee QHSE Functions and Compliance: Oversee the development of internal standards and policies for all QHSE functions, and work with Compliance to implement an audit framework.
  • Guide Teams in Standardizing Reporting Methods: Guide teams in standardizing common reporting methods and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to analyze performance.
  • Implement Training Plans: Implement and manage training plans to ensure the correct methods of incident investigation, safety inspections, incident reporting, and compliance with safety laws and regulations.
  • Support Commercial Activities: Support Commercial activities and assist with relevant client requests.
  • Provide Strategic Support: Play an integral role in the operation's senior management team, providing support, guidance, and statistics to colleagues to help identify trends and implement improvement plans.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Maintain a knowledge of industry and regulatory rules, requirements, and developments to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.
  • Communicate QHSE Performance: Develop strategies for communicating QHSE performance and initiatives to stakeholders, including customers, SMT, and Board members.
Requirements
  • A recognized safety, quality, or environmental qualification (diploma level or equivalent).
  • NEEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Proven track record of managing QHSE functions across multiple countries within a multi-site and multi-region data center environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to implement new frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent commercial and business development skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a passion for quality and accuracy.
  • Willing and able to travel.
