Dynamic Co-ordination Specialist for Neonatal and Paediatric Transfers

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider in the East of England, recognised for its outstanding care and commitment to excellence. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Dynamic Co-ordination Specialist to join our team in the Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support & Retrieval Service (PaNDR) for the East of England.

This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in coordinating emergency referrals and bed/cot locating across the region. As a Dynamic Co-ordination Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for all forms of communication for the service, primarily via telephone. Your primary responsibilities will include working for an emergency 24/7 neonatal and paediatric transfer service, co-ordinating collection, storage and reporting of information regarding regional cot availability, facilitating transfers of babies to the Neonatal Intensive Care Units and Paediatric Intensive Care Units in the region, and providing admin support 24/7.

We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication skills, able to work on own initiative, prioritise urgent information, and demonstrate a calm and understanding approach under pressure. Previous experience in a customer services or front of house environment is essential, along with basic IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages. A willingness to assist with other duties as required is also essential.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patient confidentiality issues, be computer literate, and possess good organisational skills. The ability to deal with challenging conversations, often with stressed/anxious stakeholders, is also crucial. This role requires flexibility, including working unsocial hours, including late shifts, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

We offer a competitive salary of £25,500 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a wide range of benefits, including on-site leisure facilities, shopping concourse, and day nurseries. Our good work programme includes providing reduced cost Stagecoach bus travel to and from Cambridge University Hospital site, free parking on site for eligible staff, and subsidised hot food available 24/7 at a reduced cost for colleagues.

In addition to these benefits, we are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community where everyone can be themselves. We value our differences and fully advocate and support an inclusive working environment where every individual can fulfill their potential. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and are willing to go above and beyond to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
