Job Description:

The role of SEN Teaching Assistant is available in an independent SEN school in Kensington & Chelsea. The school caters to a total of 25 pupils, with varying SEMH needs, taught in small-sized classes with a maximum of 6 pupils in each class. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with SEMH needs, including ADHD, trauma, and speech, language, and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers with general classroom duties, including lesson planning and implementation.
  • Providing one-to-one support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, including ADHD, trauma, and speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
