Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Nanopore Biochemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Yujia Qing on a project developing nanopore sensing technologies for functional biomolecules, funded by UKRI/ERC.
The project involves designing and implementing novel nanopore sensing technologies to study the properties of functional biomolecules. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management, coordinating multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines, and contributing to the development of the research group.
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or a relevant subject area, with experience in protein engineering and biocatalysis. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
The post is available as soon as possible and will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, 12 Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry and biophysics, with experience in protein engineering and biocatalysis. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
