Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Nanopore Biochemistry

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Yujia Qing on a project developing nanopore sensing technologies for functional biomolecules, funded by UKRI/ERC.
The project involves designing and optimizing nanopore sensing technologies for the detection of functional biomolecules. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology or a relevant subject area, and experience in protein engineering and biocatalysis. They will be expected to manage their own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management and coordination of multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory, and is available as soon as possible. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies for the detection of functional biomolecules.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced researcher who is passionate about developing nanopore sensing technologies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, chemical biology or a relevant subject area, and experience in protein engineering and biocatalysis. They will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
