Submarine Safety Engineering Specialist

This role involves contributing to the design of submarines in concept stages, and design modifications of mature and operational submarines to ensure safety from internal hazards. As a subject matter expert for internal hazard safety, you will be acting as a key player in various design review meetings and as a design peer reviewer. You will be developing safety case reports for multiple safety cases, undertaking risk assessments and ALARP assessments, and producing and peer reviewing technical papers relating to safety analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a degree-qualified background in a relevant STEM discipline and experience in safety engineering gained from areas such as systems safety, process safety, technical safety, product safety, nuclear safety or safety case development.
In addition to your skills and qualifications, you will also bring experience with quantitative and qualitative risk assessment techniques and a proven track record in safety engineering in a high-hazard industry.
