Job Summary:

The Hampshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Team Manager to join our Children in Care Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting Social Workers in ensuring statutory requirements are met, and providing guidance on best practices in social care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Social Workers in managing caseloads and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on best practices in social care, including the Hampshire Approach.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure effective support for children and families.
  • Supervise and support staff to ensure high standards of practice are maintained.

Requirements:

  • Relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience of working in statutory social care, preferably in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong understanding of the Hampshire Approach and its application in social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with some days in the office and others working remotely.
