About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinical support worker to join our Chemotherapy Day Unit at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

The post holder will join the existing team to provide support and care for patients attending the treatment suite. They will work with colleagues to support patients during their appointments, providing individualized and compassionate patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care and support in a clinical setting
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
  • Develop clinical skills, including venepuncture, to support patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment

Person Specification

  • Functional skills in English and maths at level 1 or GCSE English and maths grade G/1 or above
  • NVQ/Diploma level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent healthcare qualification
  • Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience as a Healthcare Support Worker/Trainee in a care setting
  • Previous experience in a care setting or day unit environment
  • Good understanding of oncology and haematology
