About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our vibrant school community at Speech and Language UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the teaching, therapy, and care of pupils with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).

As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs), teachers, and support staff to provide the highest level of care. You will assist with both individual pupils and group sessions, working in the classroom and specialist therapy spaces to enhance pupils' access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Therapy & Care: Assist SLTs with individual pupils and group sessions, working in the classroom and specialist therapy spaces.
  • Hands-on Learning: Help with dysphagia management under guidance, maintain therapy materials, and provide essential input in reports, assessments, and meetings.
  • Organisational Support: Keep things running smoothly with administrative duties, including maintaining therapy records and preparing resources for the department.
  • Inspire & Contribute: Be an integral part of the school's development and the wider community of Speech and Language UK by sharing your knowledge, supporting SLT students on placement, and contributing to curriculum innovation.

  • Has an eye for detail and can handle administrative tasks with efficiency and care.
  • Is eager to learn and develop professionally, whether it's through CPD, hands-on experience, or gaining proficiency in tools like Makaton.
