SEN Mediator and Tribunal Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled SEN Mediation and Tribunal Officer to join our team at Achieving for Children.
As a SEND Mediation Specialist Officer, you will be responsible for representing the organization in informal and formal mediations with families, as well as representing us at SENDIST Tribunal Hearings. You will also provide solution-focused thinking and creativity to overcome challenges, build and maintain strong relationships, and work closely with SENDIASS and other voluntary groups to address feedback and resolve local issues.
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015, and the Care Act 2014, and how these impact the role. They will also possess highly developed presentational skills for legal case responses, letter writing, and correspondence, and have proven people management skills.
We offer a competitive salary of £38,000 - £43,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 29 days annual leave, increasing to 33 days after 2 years and 35 days after 4 years, tailored induction sessions, local government salary and pension scheme, flexible working options, comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, range of staff benefits and discounts, and an excellent learning and development offer to support your career pathway.
