Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Liaison and Diversion Team for a Liaison & Diversion Practitioner to join our established service. This key role will be based in Barrow in Furness Police Station and will involve working across all three sites.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying individuals with substance misuse, mental health, learning disability, or other vulnerabilities within the criminal justice system. They will work closely with colleagues to provide assessments, referrals, and support to individuals, aiming to divert them away from the criminal justice system into more appropriate settings.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience. A professional recognized qualification such as RMN, Learning Disability Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist is desirable. You will also require knowledge of mental health issues, learning disability, and the criminal justice system.
