The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the range of services across LIS and TLS divisions at our client site, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

The role will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of laboratory professionals, ensuring the delivery of exceptional services and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensuring the maintenance and performance of HPLC and GC systems, including routine preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and performance qualifications checks.
  • Mentoring, training, and developing team members in areas of responsibility, completing performance reviews, and ensuring team development.
  • Maintaining and developing the client relationship with GSK.
  • Ensuring all core tasks are completed daily, adhering to schedules and SLA requirements.
  • Ensuring Planned and Reactive Maintenance is completed within specified timeframes and in accordance with KPI requirements.
  • Ensuring documentation and records are kept up-to-date and in compliance with site requirements.
  • Identifying and promoting benefits and innovations within the team.
  • Attending governance meetings and reporting on Laboratory Support services.
  • Applying mitigation to support sites' CPI, KPI, PI adherence if necessary.
  • Sub-contractor management, ensuring safe practices on site and supporting contract renewal processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining team work areas, ensuring high standards of housekeeping and meeting requirements such as 5S.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level education in a Science subject (preferably Chemistry).
  • 3+ years of experience working within a laboratory environment and familiarity with GxP procedures.
  • People management experience (preferable but not essential).
  • Technical knowledge in HPLC and GC, including troubleshooting and maintenance experience essential.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling using a CMMS such as SAP, MERPs preferable.
  • Experience in using Empower preferable.
  • Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviors and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and independently of supervision.
  • Customer-focused and works well as a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and able to prioritize tasks appropriately.
