Lab Operations Team Lead
**Are you are looking for the next step in your career? We have an exciting opening within in our MITIE Labs Service line to support our Pharmaceutical client in Montrose.**
**Our Labs Operations Team Role combines the ability to retain a hands on technical aspect with an introduction to the supervisory world.**
**What we are looking for**
- 3+ years demonstrable experience of working within a laboratory environment and familiarity with GxP procedures
- 3+ years Experience for operator, troubleshooting & maintenance of HPLC & GC
- Experienced use of Empower
- People management / supervisory or team lead experience (preferable but not essential)
- Enthusiastic, hard working and shows willing
- Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
- Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision
- Customer focussed and works well as a team
- Strong organisational skills and able to priortise tasks appropriately
**Job Overview**
**The role will include, but is not limited to**:
- People management of full Lab Support Team ensuring resilience within team for absences/holidays/weekends
- Performing tasks in area of expertise and understanding of all areas of service line
- Maintaining HPLC & GC systems in accordance with maintenance schedule along with PQ checks in line with site standards
- Mentoring/training/developing team in areas of responsibilities
- Maintaining and developing the GSK client relationship
- Ensuring all core tasks completed daily as in adherence to schedule and SLA requirements
- Ensuring that Planned & Reactive Maintenance is completed within the specified time-frames and in accordance with the specified KPI requirements for self-delivery and subcontractor management
- Ensuring documentation and records are kept up-to-date and in compliance with site requirements
- Identifying and promoting miideas/benefits/innovations of team
- Attending governance meetings and reporting on the Lab Support Stream.
- Driving a strong Health & Safety culture with the team.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Management and control of the activities of the team to ensure the services are delivered to the agreed specification and performance standards and aligned to KPIs
- Ensuring resilience within team to support all tasks in event of absences/holidays/weekend requirements.
- Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.
- Responsible for ensuring all maintenance carried out within the scheduling window, be it self-delivery or management of subcontractors and in accordance with SLA & KPI requirements
- Maintenance of the Asset list to ensure it is up-to-date at all times
- Ensuring the team maintains 100% in MyLearning and MiLearning hub
**Other Duties**
- The role will require the individual to work flexibly, to encompass any urgent or unanticipated needs arising for
increases or decreases in plant production schedules or audits.
- Identify and support new client opportunities to grow the service line, building STPs (situation, target, proposals)
and change requests as required.
- Awareness of service lines commercial impacts to sites overall budget and support with savings
This role would be great for an experienced analyst looking to take their first step into a management role, the role will be hands on and require experience and understanding of a working lab especially in instrumentation with HPLC & GC. The role will also offer the opportunity to develop the individual into the business side of the outsourced FM industry.
