Warehouse Operations Manager


This role oversees the operational efficiency of a warehouse function, ensuring the team delivers against business targets.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage a team of warehouse operatives to ensure efficient warehouse operations and meet production targets.
  • Coordinate workloads, provide support, and monitor performance to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and fostering a culture of working safely.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels, stock movements, and record-keeping within the warehouse.
  • Participate in regular stock takes and maintain accurate automated systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.
  • Resolve issues and problems within the warehouse, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics as required.
  • Assist in future capacity planning and ensure health and safety standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.
  • Act up for management to cover leave and absence.

People Management:



  • Manage time and attendance for operatives within the area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with staff on priorities, targets, and operational requirements.
  • Report progress updates, key achievements, and concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies as required.
  • Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.

Requirements:



  • Team leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets and databases, and knowledge of warehouse systems.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure or poor quality.
  • Good planning skills and ability to meet targets and deadlines.
