As a strategic financial controller at Michael Page (UK), you will play a crucial role in supporting the company's growth and success. The ideal candidate will have experience in group consolidations, controls, and consolidation accounting, with a strong understanding of commercial awareness.

About Our Client

Our client is a leading social housing provider operating across eight regions in the UK. They aim to eradicate homelessness in the UK through their work in partnership with several of the UK's leading homelessness service providers.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining internal control and supporting Group strategy by preparing and generating group consolidated financial reports and reconciliations. This includes taking charge of the accounting for the group and its subsidiaries, examining group accounting procedures to ensure compliance with audit standards, and creating and maintaining a strong financial control environment.

You will also manage the group treasury function, producing and issuing data, reconciling monthly settlements, and monitoring inter-company cash settlement processes. Additionally, you will assist with yearly group audits and corporate tax filings, including computing tax figures, quarterly tax instalment payments, and VAT returns.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven substantial experience in group consolidations. You should have experience in controls and consolidation accounting, including acquisitions, equity accounting, and inter-company eliminations.

A self-motivated and conscientious individual with commercial awareness and an appreciation of the influence financial accounting operations can have on the larger firm would be ideal for this position.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £70,000 depending on experience, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a car allowance, and hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office.
