Medical Staffing Specialist Lead

Job Summary:
The Medical Staffing Specialist Lead will be responsible for developing, producing, and maintaining medical rotas for Doctors within the Trust across all Service Lines. This includes leading and managing medical recruitment across the Trust, including SAS, specialist Doctors, Locum Consultants, Consultants, Junior Doctors, and Junior Doctor rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage medical recruitment across the Trust, including SAS, specialist Doctors, Locum Consultants, Consultants, Junior Doctors, and Junior Doctor rotations.
- Develop and maintain medical rotas for Doctors within the Trust across all Service Lines.
- Provide training and coaching to medical hiring managers on the Trust's e-recruitment system and support them to use it efficiently and effectively.
- Take an account management approach to ensure a timely and high-quality proactive medical recruitment service is facilitated across the Trust in accordance with agreed standards of practice.
- Support the Head of Medical Staffing in providing consistent and proactive advice/guidance to managers on recruitment and its processes.
- Ensure the medical recruitment pipeline is proactively progressed and activities are completed and achieved within set and agreed timelines.
- Horizon scan and resolve issues before they are escalated.
- Review vacancies not yet progressed to recruitment, link with service leads to ensure they are progressed, and keep the Head of Medical Staffing updated at all times.
- Take a talent management approach to ensure candidates in the pipeline who are appointable are moved across into other vacancies should there not be enough vacancies to offer from a given campaign.
- Progress medical honorary contracts pre-employment checks, ensuring a timely facilitation of these in line with agreed timelines.
- Be responsible for the pre-employment checks for all medical recruitment, including medical honorary contracts and junior doctor rotations, and take full responsibility for ensuring all pre-employment checks are collated and recorded in the staff files.
- Issue relevant contracts, ESR inputting in line with payroll deadlines.
- Participate in the resourcing office rota and support on any pre-employment checks which may arise when in the office, including non-medical.
- Ensure all employment checks and paperwork are accurate and compliant with NHS Employers Employment Check Standards and brief staff on any updates as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the GDPR legislation in relation to recruitment and employment records.
- Participate in audits and spot checking as and when required, and as directed by the Recruitment Manager, to ensure consistency across all checks in line with legal requirements and obligations.
- Lead and undertake all aspects of arranging AAC panels for consultant interviews, including contacting the Royal College requesting and chasing reps where required.
- Submit relevant outcome paperwork to the Royal College on appointment.
- In the absence of the Head of Medical Staffing, attend AAC panel interviews.
- Ensure all job descriptions are submitted to the Royal College for approval prior to advertising.
- Liaise with Clinical Directors and Service Leads to obtain relevant job descriptions.
- Maintain the medical job description library and ensure it is updated with new and/or approved job descriptions.
