HR Generalist

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / HR Generalist to join our busy HR team in Winchester for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruitment Service: Provide efficient recruitment services, including advising managers on all aspects of the process, to include terms and conditions and equal opportunities, participation in recruitment interviews, and the preparation of offers of employment.
- Pre-Employment Checks: Ensure that all pre-employment checks and vetting are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Contract Variations: Process variations to contracts of employment accurately and efficiently with appropriate authorisation.
- HR Advice: Provide HR advice to managers and staff on employment law, good HR practice, current terms and conditions, and council policies.
- HR Policies: Provide initial advice and assistance to managers on HR policies and procedures.
- Maternity Leave: Advise employees on their maternity leave and ensure that administrative records are accurately maintained in accordance with statutory deadlines.
- Occupational Health: Advise employees and managers on the occupational health process and make and manage referrals to the occupational health provider as appropriate.
- Recruitment Data: Provide regular update reports on recruitment data as required.
- Training Sessions: Assist in the development and delivery of corporate training sessions as required.
- HR Policies and Procedures: Assist in the development and review of human resource policies and procedures.
- Experience: Two years working in an HR team providing comprehensive HR generalist services.
- Organisation and Administration: Strong HR administration experience and the ability to use your own initiative.
- Office-Based Environment: Two years working in an office-based environment in a large organisation.
- Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and experience of applying legislation, guidelines, regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards to key areas of responsibility.
- CIPD Qualification: Preference for a CIPD qualification, e.g., Level 3 or Level 5.
This is a 12-month contract, and we are seeking someone to start as soon as possible. The role may be engaged on a temporary basis, with hybrid working (50/50 on-site in Winchester) following the initial training period. The role is full-time, 37 hours per week.
