Position Overview - Signal Electrician

UGL Pty Limited is responsible for the operation and upkeep of the NSW Country Regional Network (CRN). We are currently in search of a skilled Signal Electrician looking for a stable career opportunity with a prominent Rail Operator.

This is a permanent role, located in Orange NSW. Signal Electricians play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the rail network's signalling systems. Your responsibilities will include executing maintenance tasks, conducting maintenance inspections, identifying and rectifying signalling defects, diagnosing and resolving signalling issues, and collaborating with other teams to support their projects. This position operates on a 9-day fortnight schedule, with occasional travel requirements.

Your Responsibilities as a Signal Electrician:

In this role, you will be tasked with performing maintenance inspections and repairs in accordance with UGL's Technical Maintenance Plan, identifying and addressing mechanical faults in signals, and responding to failures to diagnose and resolve signalling problems.

Candidate Profile:

  • Must be a qualified Signal Electrician and possess a Cert IV in Electrical (Rail Signalling)
  • Demonstrated experience in signalling
  • Proficient in fault rectification, testing, commissioning, and decommissioning of signalling systems
  • Strong capability to interpret and read technical schematics
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Possession of a White Card
  • Essential: Class C Driver's Licence (HR preferred)
  • Current RIW card is preferable
  • Background in rail maintenance with a solid technical understanding
  • Intermediate skills in computer literacy
