Position Overview - Signal Electrician

UGL Regional Linx is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the NSW Country Regional Network (CRN). We are currently seeking a skilled Signalling Electrician for a long-term role with a prominent Rail Operator.

This is a permanent opportunity based in a regional area. The Signal Electrician will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the rail network's signalling systems. Key responsibilities include conducting maintenance activities, performing inspections, diagnosing and rectifying signalling faults, and collaborating with various teams to support operational requirements. The position involves a 9-day fortnight roster, with occasional travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Signal Electrician, your duties will encompass:

  • Executing maintenance inspections and repairs in accordance with UGLRL's Technical Maintenance Plan.
  • Identifying and rectifying mechanical faults in signalling systems.
  • Responding to failures to diagnose and resolve signalling issues.

Candidate Profile:

  • Certification as a Signal Electrician and a Cert IV in Electrical (Rail Signalling).
  • Proven experience in signalling operations.
  • Proficient in fault rectification, testing, commissioning, and decommissioning of signalling systems.
  • Strong capability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Possession of a White Card.
  • Valid Class C Driver's licence (HR preferred).
  • Current RIW card is preferable.
  • Background in rail maintenance with a solid technical understanding.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
