Job Summary:

The Flight Simulator Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Rotary Wing Flight Simulators at Bristow Training Centre. This is a critical role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of Simulator systems as required by the Company and OEMs in accordance with relevant regulations and equipment manuals.
  • Perform daily readiness, preflight, and after-flight checks to ensure the simulator is in a safe and operational condition.
  • Control and manage the systems required to run the simulators, including updates to simulator data, ground station data, host loads, and visual databases.
  • Implement and maintain simulator recording and reporting processes, including the execution of Qualification Test Guides (QTGs).
  • Update and maintain simulator maintenance and procedures manuals as required.
  • Report and document unserviceability and faults, and plan the repair of reported faults.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required during the supervisor's absence.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, aviation authorities, and OEM representatives.
  • Comply with quality standards required by Bristow Helicopters Ltd and adhere to design procedures as set out in Company Handbooks and agreements with Third Parties.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND in aircraft/avionics related discipline, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or Information Technology/Computing.
  • Computer literacy with advanced window application knowledge.
  • Knowledge of schematic drawings and basic knowledge of electrical, electronics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of fault-finding principles and corrective measures techniques.
  • Knowledge of database programming, computer networks, and input techniques.
  • Experience in flight simulator systems, aircraft systems, I/O, motion, control loading, QTGs, and visual.
  • Experience in a customer support or client-facing role is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Operational experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical mind, and ability to plan and manage priorities.
