About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger management, and balance sheet control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including financial analysis and reporting.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with VAT and Corporation tax matters.
- Ensure all transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Assist with the year-end audit and accounts preparation process.
- Process invoices and transactions within the accounting ledger (Microsoft Dynamics).
- Perform bank statement reconciliations, including chasing approvals and payments.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly management reporting.
- Raise invoices and manage credit control.
- Assist accountants with preparing quarterly VAT returns and annual accounts.
- Deal with accounts queries and ensure timely payment of suppliers.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of practical working experience within a busy finance function.
- A confident, professional, and pragmatic approach.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- IT literate, with an in-depth knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Positive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to learn.
- Quick thinking and high level of initiative, with the ability to adapt to changing work demands.
- Attention to detail.
