Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Policy Advisor to join our team at the Department for Culture, Media & Sport. As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing media policy, working closely with senior officials and stakeholders to drive forward our agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement media policy initiatives, working closely with senior officials and stakeholders to drive forward our agenda.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on media policy issues, drawing on your extensive knowledge and experience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, academics, and other government departments.
  • Contribute to the development of policy briefs, reports, and other materials, ensuring that they are well-researched and effectively communicate our policy positions.
  • Represent the Department at external events and meetings, promoting our policy agenda and engaging with key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in media policy, with a strong understanding of the issues and challenges facing the sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective policy solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK media landscape, including the BBC and other key players.
