Quantity Surveyor | Civil Engineering | Inverness
The Role:
We are seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Inverness. As a key member of our commercial team, you will provide commercial support to project teams, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and maintaining accurate cost and value reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial support to project teams, including cost management, forecasting, and commercial planning.
- Liaise with customer representatives and third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments.
- Ensure robust, accurate, and timely cost and value reporting at project and business level.
- Carry out cost management, including forecasting and updating the monthly CVR, cost, and commercial plans.
- Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit and actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
- Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting, as well as preparing applications for payment and liaising with clients on commercial issues.
- Contribute towards effective interactions between the Commercial Team and operational site teams, working with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the construction industry.
- HND / Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
- Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law.
- Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
- Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
- Have knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis.
