Job Title: Graduate Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Express Recruitment. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting our clients in the construction industry, providing cost management and reporting services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shadow senior Quantity Surveyor team members and attend on-site meetings to gain valuable experience and knowledge.
  • Carry out site measurements, pricing, and valuation duties to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Provide cost estimates for a range of local and UK-wide projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist with contract negotiations and tender writing, including bill of quantities, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Carry out training to understand the cost management and report writing process, staying up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Liaise frequently with the supply chain and estimating department to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our company's range of specialist products and services.
  • Carry out all additional training necessary to complete the graduate scheme and achieve your career goals.
  • Adhere to tight project deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing your workload effectively.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
  • Previous work-related experience in surveying is strongly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to interact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Confident negotiation skills are necessary to secure successful project outcomes.
  • Strong financial acumen is essential to manage costs and budgets effectively.
  • A full, clean, UK driving license is required for travel to client sites.
