Career Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Career Development Specialist to join our team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for providing excellent careers and employability information, advice, and guidance to students in their progression.
About the RoleAs a key member of our careers team, you will deliver high-quality careers information, advice, and guidance supporting learners with their choices in regards to their career progression and set SMART career targets to support them in achieving positive destinations.
An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the routes available, including up-to-date labour market information, is essential. You will work collaboratively across college and with external partners to advocate on behalf of students and reinforce our partnership network.
You will provide students and potential students with the information they need to make decisions about future studies or employment at the end of their time at college, and support students to secure part-time employment while studying.
Responsibilities- Provide expert careers and employability information, advice, and guidance to students
- Deliver high-quality careers guidance sessions to learners aged 14-16, 16-18, 19+, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities/Looked After Children/Education Health and Care Plans
- Create innovative resources and deliver group sessions to support student learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to achieve student outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Level 3 in Initial Advice and Guidance, or be willing to undertake and a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths (or be willing to undertake)
- Experience working with students aged 14-16, 16-18, 19+, including those with SEND/LAC/EHC plans
- Good presentation skills and ability to create engaging resources
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
