Community Support Coordinator

North East, United Kingdom Humankind Full time
Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Community Support Coordinator to join our team at Humankind. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. You will work closely with Police colleagues to provide specialist, tailored support to enable service users to make positive changes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in their community. As a Community Support Coordinator, you will take a holistic approach, ensuring that every service user's package of care encompasses all areas of their wellbeing, not just their substance use. Your goal will be to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person.

We are committed to fair chances for all and making sure everyone can access the help and support they need to realise their potential. By joining our team, you will contribute to making this happen. You can really make a difference by believing in our service users and their ability to make positive changes when they don't always believe in themselves.

About Us

Humankind is one of England's most successful home-grown charities. We provide free, confidential support for alcohol, drugs, housing, or mental health in friendly local places across the UK. Our teams provide support for individuals who are experiencing problematic substance use. We offer a range of services, including outreach and engagement, harm minimisation, and family support.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with Police colleagues to provide specialist, tailored support to individuals who have transgressed the law but do not require prosecution. You will offer advice, support, and guidance around the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse. With support from the Harm Minimisation Lead and Outreach Worker, you will offer tailored guidance in minimising harmful behaviour and support those into service if required.

About the Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits, including generous annual leave entitlement (27 days, plus bank holidays, increasing to 32 after 1 year's service), annual leave purchase scheme, enhanced occupational sick pay, and death in service benefit. We also offer free Will writing, eyecare vouchers, blue light card discount, and fantastic learning and development opportunities, including free training courses. Work-life balance is important to us, and we offer flexible working and family-friendly policies.
