Biomedical Scientist Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology and Blood Transfusion Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the examination of samples using various technologies and reporting or presenting the results as appropriate.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to assist the section manager in the daily operation of the assigned section, including the supervision of junior Registered BMS and support staff. They will also be responsible for taking delegated responsibility for the quality control, operation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, and undertaking quality control procedures.
Requirements
- Registered BMS (HCPC)
- Completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent
- 12 months UK diagnostic laboratory experience
- Able to demonstrate competency in laboratory techniques
