Job Title: Youth and Play Session Volunteer

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer to support our Youth and Play Workers in delivering high-quality sessions to young people. As a Youth and Play Session Volunteer, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and engaging environment for our young participants.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of the room and activities before each session
  • Assist the team in coordinating and delivering sessions, including outings and activities
  • Facilitate group discussions and tasks throughout the session
  • Support with catering and administrative duties as needed
  • Follow High Trees policies and procedures for working with children and young people
  • Inform the Youth and Play Workers of any issues that arise during sessions
  • Support the team with running sessions, including cooking, gardening, bike maintenance, sports, and arts and crafts

Commitment:

  • Attend one session per week, with flexibility to attend shorter or longer sessions
  • Commit to supporting the team for at least one term (approximately 3-4 months)

Skills and Qualities:

  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Good social and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage with young people
  • Desirable skills: sports, arts and crafts, cooking, sports coaching, building, and bike maintenance
