Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a good-rated school in Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and a passion for delivering high-quality support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver activities that cater to the needs of students with ASC
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans, risk assessments, and therapy care programs for students
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to students
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to their individual needs

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with ASC or a willingness to work with ASC students
  • Good knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a passion for developing this knowledge
  • Able to commit to working fixed days
  • NVQ in Childcare and Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Previous experience in residential support work, care, or support working in schools
  • Team Teach, TEACCH, or positive handling training
  • Experience in developing independence in young people
  • Experience in supporting social and emotional development
  • A clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
