Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team at the Joint Nature Conservation Committee. As a Senior Pollution Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting our efforts to address chemical pollution in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific leadership and project management for the System Level Indicators project, working closely with our Environmental Pollution science leads.
  • Serve as secretariat and science advisor for the Inter-agency Chemicals Group and Environmental Improvement Programme.
  • Act as UK liaison on pollution advice for the 25 Year Environment Plan H4 (Chemical) indicators sub-groups, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Provide cover for Chemicals Capability Building via PhD co-supervision, engagement with Centres for Doctoral Training, and placements.

Requirements

  • Science degree or equivalent experience with application to ecology or environmental context.
  • Strong understanding of chemical pollution and its impacts on the environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven project management and leadership skills, with experience in managing complex projects and teams.
