About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a key member of our compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our business operates within the regulatory framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely advice and sign-off to business stakeholders on compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the wider team to ensure that all areas of our business understand the regulatory landscape, priorities, and approach.
  • Review, analyze, and challenge management information provided by the business in support of compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and highlight emerging regulatory risks and regulatory changes and prepare summaries and impact analyses for the business, supported by relevant and pragmatic recommendations.
  • Support the team in ensuring all regulatory submissions and responses to regulatory requests for information, including consultations, are identified, collated, and managed within required timelines.
  • Attend appropriate working groups, steering committees, and forums, providing advice and escalating material matters accordingly.
  • Assist in collating committee packs and support in managing compliance risks, frameworks, and controls.
Requirements
  • FCA general insurance/broking/insurer compliance experience is essential.
  • Experience of the UK regulatory regime and regulatory topics such as ICOBS, PROD, Consumer Duty, Financial Crime, and CONC is essential.
  • Exceptional stakeholder awareness and management skills are required.
  • Excellent MI analytical skills to identify poor outcomes and conduct risk trends are necessary.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both in writing and oral, are required.
  • A proven track record of working on own initiative and in a team, delivering practical outcomes in a fast and timely manner, is essential.
