**Job Title:** Court Clerk
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Court Clerk to join our team at Brook Street. This is an ongoing temporary position with the possibility of a further extension.
In this role, you will work as part of a flexible team, clerking courts and providing essential support to users.
- You will be responsible for obtaining names of parties in attendance and showing them into hearings.
- You will call members of the public into court, maintaining supplies for court users and completing court recording sheets.
- You will pass on important information to all concerned, keeping court rooms tidy and well managed.
- You will label evidence and pass it to the judge and jury, carrying out general clerical work to support HMCTS.
**Salary:** £24,000 - £28,000 per annum
This role is ideal for someone interested in law and criminology or passionate about customer service and supporting the public.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Basic IT skills in Microsoft Packages (training provided)
- Strong recent admin/customer service experience
- Polite and helpful communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Vigilance and a professional personality
- Approachability, non-judgmentalism, and honesty when dealing with others
