Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in the Mainstream Schools Service. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and therapy packages to children with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) in mainstream schools.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, providing high-quality services to children and families. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing assessment and therapy packages to children with SLCN in mainstream schools
  • Training and supporting school staff and parents to implement therapy advice effectively
  • Supporting schools with the early identification of children with SLCN
  • Prioritizing the safeguarding of vulnerable children at all times
  • Contributing to quality governance, audits, and projects for the team/service

Person Specification

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who has:

  • A recognized Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent
  • A Health and Care Professions Council license to practice
  • A registered membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists

Desirable qualifications and experience include a first-class honors degree or equivalent, further training courses relevant to the post, and experience of working in a mainstream school as a therapist/teacher/learning support assistant.
