About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our Mainstream Schools Team in Hillingdon. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and therapy packages to children with speech, language, and communication needs in mainstream schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapy packages to children with speech, language, and communication needs in mainstream schools.
  • Train and support school staff and parents to implement therapy advice effectively.
  • Support schools with the early identification of children with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Prioritize the safeguarding of vulnerable children at all times.
  • Support the service to achieve key performance indicators and maintain target activity levels.
  • Take part in quality governance, audits, and projects for the team/service.
  • Contribute to and provide feedback about possible developments in the team.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who:

  • Has a recognized Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Has a Health and Care Professions Council license to practice.
  • Is a registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Has knowledge of assessment tools relevant to school-age children with SLCN.
  • Has knowledge of a range of appropriate therapy approaches for school-age children with SLCN.
  • Has knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to school-age children with SLCN.
  • Has awareness of the principles of clinical governance/audit.
  • Has awareness of the roles of other professionals relevant to school-age children with SLCN.
  • Has knowledge of standards of record keeping.
