We are seeking an experienced SENCO to lead our provision for students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs, ensuring that all students receive appropriate and tailored support.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Work closely with staff to support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of SEN students.
  • Coordinate with external agencies, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other professionals, to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Monitor the progress of SEN students and adapt strategies to ensure continued development and success.
  • Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on effective SEN strategies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and school policies, maintaining accurate records and reports.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a SENCO qualification or significant experience working in an SENCO role.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices in SEN provision.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • A compassionate and student-centered approach to education.
  • A DBS check is required.
