Special Educational Needs Coordinator Job Opportunity

Remedy Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. As a key member of our learning community, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all students receive the support necessary for their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SEN provision within the school, ensuring that all students receive the support necessary for their success.
  • Develop and implement tailored strategies and interventions for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other associated learning difficulties and behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEN, adjusting support as needed to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices and effective strategies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Hold an appropriate SENCO Qualification OR have experience in a SENCO role and be willing to undertake qualification within 2 years of taking up the post.
  • A proven record of good or outstanding teaching practice.
  • An excellent, efficient, and emotionally intelligent communicator.
  • Sound working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
  • A strong desire to work inclusively within an emotionally literate environment, supporting children who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
