Budget and Financial Manager Job Overview

We are seeking a Budget and Financial Manager to join our team in Brackenberry. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Principal Accountant in undertaking an annual budget review exercise, developing the next financial year's budget, and informing the medium-term financial planning strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To take responsibility for specific aspects of accounting for the Collection Fund, assisting with modelling of the council tax base, monitoring and impact of CTB localisation, retention of NNDR, New Homes Bonus and any other related legislation.
  • To assist with the analysis of the impact on Council Tax levels of spending plans, including comparisons against other authorities, as required.

Requirements:

  • 3 GCSE passes including Maths & English;
  • AAT fully qualified or equivalent and/or experience requirements as set out below.

Experience:

  • 2 years local government finance experience;
  • Experience of using based financial systems within a large complex organisation.

Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum.
