About the Role:

The Disclosures team within Glasgow Finance is responsible for preparing various financial disclosures of the Firm, including those produced in accordance with IFRS and Financial Regulatory reporting to European Regulators. As a result of the ever-changing regulatory and financial reporting environment, the team is a key contributor across numerous projects arising as new requirements are issued by our Regulators.

The team works closely with a number of stakeholders across the Firm, including Global Product Controllers for the Institutional Securities Group business unit, Finance Technology, Legal Entity Control, and the Accounting Policy Group.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and Reviewing Regulatory Balance Sheet-based external reporting
Review commentary and analysis to support the reporting
Oversight of the production process within the Disclosures statistical reporting team, providing support and guidance to ensure delivery against production timetables
Troubleshooting data issues during quarterly production through effective communication and escalation to local line management
Responding to review questions raised on disclosures produced
Presenting disclosures and analytics to members of Finance Senior Management
Building an understanding of disclosure requirements and Morgan Stanley policies
Ensuring statistical reporting adheres to the defined governance model and control framework, ensuring consistency with the key reporting produced across the wider team
Maintaining written procedures documents, ensuring key controls are in place

Requirements:

Experience of financial/regulatory reporting
Experience of working with large datasets
Excellent communication skills including ability to escalate effectively and in a timely manner
Appreciation of escalation and risk awareness
Ability to challenge issues and processes
Self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving abilities
Strong work ethic with an ability to take responsibility for completing tasks and working to deadlines
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to balance and effectively prioritise multiple issues
Proficient with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Financial services and/or product knowledge
Balance Sheet controller reporting experience
Hold a CA/ACA/ACCA qualification
