Job Title: Statistical Reporting Controller

Glasgow Finance is seeking a skilled Statistical Reporting Controller to join our team. As a key member of the Disclosures team, you will play a critical role in preparing financial regulatory reporting for the Firm in accordance with multiple accounting and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and review regulatory balance sheet-based external reporting
  2. Review commentary and analysis to support the reporting
  3. Oversight of the production process within the Disclosures statistical reporting team, providing support and guidance to ensure delivery against production timetables
  4. Troubleshoot data issues during quarterly production through effective communication and escalation to local line management
  5. Respond to review questions raised on disclosures produced
  6. Present disclosures and analytics to members of Finance Senior Management
  7. Build an understanding of disclosure requirements and Morgan Stanley policies
  8. Ensure statistical reporting adheres to the defined governance model and control framework, ensuring consistency with the key reporting produced across the wider team
  9. Maintain written procedures documents, ensuring key controls are in place
Requirements:
  1. Experience of financial/regulatory reporting
  2. Experience of working with large datasets
  3. Excellent communication skills including ability to escalate effectively and in a timely manner
  4. Appreciation of escalation and risk awareness
  5. Ability to challenge issues and processes
  6. Self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving abilities
  7. Strong work ethic with an ability to take responsibility for completing tasks and working to deadlines
  8. Ability to work autonomously
  9. Ability to balance and effectively prioritise multiple issues
  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Financial services and/or product knowledge
  2. Balance Sheet controller reporting experience
  3. Hold a CA/ACA/ACCA qualification
Location:

This role will be based in the Glasgow office within the Finance division.

The Glasgow Finance Division helps senior management and its individual business units manage the Firm's risk by implementing financial controls over our business activities. The division is crucial to safeguarding the Firm's franchise, reporting on current performance, and evaluating business.
