Job Overview

This role involves managing rotas for junior doctors in the Medicine and Older Persons Services department. The successful candidate will work closely with other Rota Coordinators and a Rota Assistant to ensure smooth operation of day-to-day services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create, implement, and coordinate compliant 24-hour rotas for postgraduate doctors in training
  • Act as Rota Coordinator across areas of responsibility, making decisions and being the primary point of contact for enquiries concerning on-call rotas, annual leave, study leave, and sick leave
  • Record doctor annual, study, and sick leave, escalating concerns or threats to service continuity to relevant Clinical Directors, Managers, or consultants
  • Maintain up-to-date on-call consultant rotas
  • Attend Clinical Leads meetings to present staffing reports
  • Cross-cover other Rota Coordinators due to annual or sick leave across the Medical & OPS care group for UHD Line management of Band 4 Rota Coordinators
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures relating to medical staff and administrative/support staff
  • Qualifications: Management/Leadership qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience of administrative duties in an NHS environment
  • Demonstrable experience in rota development and administration to a high level
  • Technical skills: Competence in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
About Us

University Hospitals Dorset is investing in services across the Trust, transforming and developing them following merger and the New Hospital Programme. This means that some services may relocate during the year or next, either temporarily or long-term.

Location

The base location for this role is Poole, with possible relocation to Bournemouth site. Please note that upon relocation, excess mileage allowance/reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder's home and work base will be classified as a commute.

Salary

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
