Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Mitchell Adam, a rapidly expanding national logistics business. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in building and leading our finance function from the ground up.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to join our dynamic team and contribute to our company's growth and success. As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the finance function: You will oversee the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the smooth operation of our finance team.
- Financial planning and analysis: You will work closely with our senior leadership team to develop and implement financial plans, forecasts, and budgets to drive business growth and profitability.
- Financial reporting and compliance: You will ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts, VAT returns, and other regulatory filings.
- Team management: You will lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualified Accountant: You will hold a recognized accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Financial management experience: You will have a proven track record of financial management experience, including team leadership and financial planning and analysis.
- Business acumen: You will have a strong understanding of business operations and be able to analyze financial data to inform business decisions.
- Communication skills: You will be an effective communicator, able to articulate financial information to non-financial stakeholders and build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
