Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is supporting a leading business in the finance sector with the recruitment of a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. Our client is a well-established, family-run enterprise who have been established for over 100 years and are a well-known name in the industry.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Finance Director and working as part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for leading the month-end process for their subsidiary companies while playing a key role in support of the finance function. Detailed duties will involve:

  • Leading in the preparation of the statutory accounts
  • Preparing and presenting the monthly management accounts with commentary
  • Preparation of monthly payroll
  • Management of the cashflow
  • Preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, P11Ds, VAT
  • Assisting with the implementation of a new accounting system
  • Overview of debtors and creditors reporting
  • Overseeing the fixed asset register maintenance

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA Qualified. They will ideally have been trained in practice and be looking for their first or second move in industry. They will be happy working in a varied accounts role for a family-run business enterprise.
