About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Communications Manager to join our growing Communications team at the University of Hull. As a key member of our Marketing and Student Services Recruitment team, you will play a vital role in shaping the University's internal communications strategy and engaging our staff community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Internal Communications Strategy: Provide insights, information, and ideas to senior managers and leaders in Communications and the University to advise and guide on the development and delivery of an internal communications strategy and plans to reflect the University's objectives to build an informed and engaged staff community.
  • Support Communications Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Director of Communications and the Senior Internal Communications Manager to develop the Communications Strategy, and be responsible for delivering the internal communications elements of this strategy.
  • Lead Internal Communications Campaigns: Initiate, lead, and manage a range of internal communications campaigns to engage and involve colleagues in University initiatives, achievements, progress, and issues as required. Brief, create, and oversee relevant and engaging content to support these campaigns and embrace the University's identity and brand.
  • Manage Critical Incidents: Support the University's engagement with colleagues in response to critical incidents, by managing staff engagement around incidents, liaising with Communications team colleagues and the Rapid Response team as required.
  • Oversee Communication Channels: Manage the University's communication channels, including the new staff portal. This includes creating strategies and processes for updating, retiring, and managing content and migrating content from other sites.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in internal communications, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the University. You will also need to have experience in managing communication channels and developing internal communications strategies.
